Tug Fork River Paddle Camp
About Us
The Tug Fork doesn't get the attention it deserves. The river runs 60 miles along the West Virginia–Kentucky border through Mingo County — excellent smallmouth bass fishing, historic Matewan around the bend, remote stretches that see almost no recreational traffic. The Friends of the Tug Fork paddle camps offer structured access to the water with local knowledge and organized logistics. If you've been curious about paddling southern Appalachia's overlooked rivers, this is the one.
