The Beckley Half Marathon is back. After more than a decade away, Active SWV has brought it home — with a course that starts and finishes at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine, a preserved historic coal camp with actual guided mine tours, and winds through New River Park and along the Lewis McManus Rail Trail before heading through uptown Beckley. The 5K runs a welcoming out-and-back. Both events finish with bean soup, cornbread, and pepperoni rolls. It's the right way to end a race in southern West Virginia.
