About Us

Bridge Day is West Virginia’s largest single-day festival and one of the world’s premier extreme sports gatherings, held each year on the third Saturday in October at the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County. For one day only, the bridge closes to vehicle traffic and opens to pedestrians, offering thousands of visitors a rare chance to walk its span and watch elite BASE jumpers, rappellers, and adventure athletes take on the gorge 876 feet below. Blending high-adrenaline action with local culture and celebration, Bridge Day has become an iconic Appalachian event that draws crowds from around the world.
