Tour de Coal
About Us
Eleven miles of the Coal River, flatwater the whole way, starting at Meadowood Park in Tornado and finishing near St. Albans where the Coal meets the Kanawha. The Tour de Coal is one of the biggest single-day paddling events in the country — a flatwater format that makes it genuinely accessible to first-timers and experienced paddlers alike. You bring your own boat or coordinate a rental and follow the river through the rural corridor of Kanawha and Boone County. It's a slow day in the best sense.
